Bernard Rader, WWII Veteran and POW

On Thursday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. join Freeporter Bernie Rader, a rifleman for the 94th Infantry Division, 301st Regiment, who survived captivity and starvation as a prisoner of war, but found friendship among the local countrymen. In 2007, Mr. Rader was awarded the French Legion of Honor for all his efforts in the war.
