We are fortunate to have Professor Denton L. Watson reviewing the timeless classic Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison on Thursday August 9 at 7:00 pm at the Library. The book has remained one of the most powerful portrayals of the experience of African-Americans in our times.Denton L. Watson, formerly director of public relations for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, is an associate professor at SUNY College at Old Westbury. He is author of Lion in the Lobby, Clarence Mitchell, Jr.’s Struggle for the Passage of Civil Rights Laws and editor of The Papers of Clarence Mitchell Jr. In addition, Mr. Watson serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Freeport memorial Library.
