Special Services

eMedia Downloads at the Freeport Memorial Library

My Library DV allows Freeport library cardholders to download movies and videos from the Library’s Web site. Using the 14 digit barcode on your Freeport library card, you will be able to download and watch Hollywood movies, network and cable TV programming, and original digital video content free of charge on your personal computer.

Also available on the Library’s Web Site are three downloadable audiobooks services. Overdrive enables patrons to check out audio versions of popular books, download them to their computer and transfer them to a variety of portable devices. Some Overdrive titles may also be burned to a CD. At the end of the seven-day loan period, the license for the title will expire, and the title will be returned to the collection automatically. NetLibrary contains a large selection of classics, as well as some newer fiction, nonfiction, and language learning titles. NetLibrary audiobooks may be checked out for a period of 21 days, and you may have up to ten titles checked out at a time.

For children, the Library now has TumbleBooks. This online collection of animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they love. TumbleBooks are created by taking existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you.
