Planeación de Negocios Core Four

Presentado por la Corporación para el Desarrollo Comunitario en Martes, de las 6 a las 9 p.m., JUNIO 1, 8, 15, 22, COSTO: $40. Este curso de cuatro sesiones, de 12 horas en total, ayudará a los empresarios a comprender cómo iniciar un negocio. El curso provee conceptos de planeación y las herramientas para ayudar a dueños de negocios existentes y potenciales, para determinar la viabilidad de sus negocios. ¿Es Usted un Empresario?

Presentado por la Corporación para el Desarrollo Comunitario en lunes, 17 de Mayo, de las 7 a las 9 p.m. Este curso gratuito de introducción a la planeación de negocios, está abierto a potenciales dueños de negocios pequeños. Se discutirá el proceso de desarrollar un plan para un negocio exitoso, con sufi ciente capital y con buena administración.

Círculos de la Conversación/Conversation Circles

Líderes/Leaders: Mary Robinson and John Zaluski. Los lunes/Mondays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Mayo/May 3 and Junio/June 7. La Biblioteca Conmemorativa de Freeport continuará el programa popular para ayudar a las personas que hablan español, a mejorar sus habilidades conversacionales en inglés, y las personas que hablan inglés, a mejorar sus habilidades conversacionales en español. Los participantes alternaran conversaciones en inglés y luego en español por intercambios de 15 minutos. No hay maestro ni instrucción requesidos para estas sesiones. Freeport Memorial Library has brought back its popular program to help native Spanish speakers improve their English conversation skills and help native English speakers improve their Spanish conversation skills. Participants alternate speaking in English, then in Spanish in 15-minute intervals. There is no teacher or instruction provided during these sessions. Light refreshments are available.

Make Waves @ Your Library: 2010 Young Adult Summer Reading Club

Summer + Reading = Prizes! Join our Summer Reading Club, and e-mail or write short reviews about the books you read. Reporting starts on June 25 and ends on August 14. Last day to join the reading club is August 9. Books can be on any topic, but they must be on your reading level. Any book from the YA section will be accepted. Reviews should be written on books you read during the vacation, not books you read during the school year. One review will be accepted per day, and it may be written in English or Spanish. Review forms are available in the Children’s Room, or you can e-mail your review to us at frya@freeportlibrary.info. Include your name and grade, the book’s title and author, and your favorite part of the story. Prizes can be picked up
the next time you’re at the library. Want to join, but not sure what to read? Check out our
suggested reading lists, browse the collection, or stop by and ask our staff for ideas.

Splash into Reading @ Your Library: 2010 Tween Summer Reading Club

Join our Summer Reading Club just for TWEENS. Reporting starts June 25 and ends August 14. The last day to join is August 9. Books can be on any topic, but they must be on your reading level. Reviews should be on books you read during the summer vacation, not books you read during the school year. One review will be accepted per day, and it may be written in English or Spanish. Review forms are available in the Children’s Room, or you can e-mail your review to us at fryouthservices@ freeportlibrary.info. Include your name and grade, the book’s title and author, and your favorite part of the story. Prizes can be picked up the next time you’re at the library. This program is for students entering the 5th and 6th grades in September.

Make a Splash, Read! 2010 Summer Reading Club & Read-to-Me Summer Reading Club

Read six or more books for this Summer’s Reading Club and get invited to a party at the end of the summer. Book reports can be written, oral, or in response to our question spinner. Children who are not reading yet may draw a picture about each book that has been read to them. Register when you come in to report on your first book. Books must be on the proper reading level to be accepted. Reporting starts on June 25 and ends on August 14. Last date to join is August 12. No more than two reports will be accepted at one time. Prizes will be awarded as long as supplies last. Certificates will be awarded for all those registered.
