Music for Students by Students: Long Island Composers Alliance

On Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m., the Freeport Memorial Library will present a concert featuring original compositions by LICA members performed by students. The winning selection in LICA’s Sixth International Musical Composition Contest will be played. This is part of an ongoing project begun five years ago, funded by the Long Island Arts Council at Freeport.

Town of Hempstead Mammography Van Comes to Freeport Memorial Library

The Town of Hempstead Mammography Van, sponsored by Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., will be at the Freeport Memorial Library on Thursday, April 16 between 8:30 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. Please call the Town of Hempstead office at 516-882-0630 for further information.

Bus Trip: NYC: Rubin Museum of Art and Tour of Chinatown

The Freeport Memorial Library will host a tour of the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan. After the tour, we will have lunch in Chinatown and then a docent from the Museum of the Chinese in America will lead us on an hour’s tour of Chinatown. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The cost includes roundtrip transportation in a luxury coach, admission to the rubin Museum of Art, lunch, and gratuities. Tickets for Freeport residents will go on sale March 30 in the Library lobby; for nonresidents, April 6.

Child Safety and Protection Program

On Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to noon, New York Life Insurance Co. will be in the lobby providing free fingerprinting and photos for Child Identification Cards.

Calling All Parents! Join Us For Our Annual Preschool Fair

On Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Freeport Memorial Library will host representatives from local schools will be available to explain their programs and answer your questions about sending your child to preschool. This program is open to the general public, and there is no registration required.
