To Kill a Mockingbird
Long Island Traditions has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to participate with The Freeport Memorial Library and the Freeport Schools in the Big Read Program.
In May, all Freeporters will be reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. There will be discussion groups, films, a staged presentation of the novel, and presentations of current social issues raised by the book. Guest presenters will include civil rights activists Joseph McNeil, Joan Hodges and immigrant rights attorney Patrick Young.
