Bus Trip A Taste of Harlem
DATE: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17; COST: $80 per person.
When it comes to food, Harlem has always been a stellar neighborhood. Ethnic restaurants and small eateries have made Harlem a great place to visit, and the food continues to be a major attraction. Savor the many different delights of the area. This tour will also include a peek inside a historic brownstone. We may also have time to visit the African Market. The cost includes roundtrip transportation in a luxury coach, tastings, brownstone admission, all taxes, and some gratuities. Bus leaves Freeport Recreation Center at 9:45 a.m. and returns at approximately
5 p.m. Freeport residents may purchase tickets in the Library lobby on January 5; for nonresidents, January 12.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
MONDAYS, FEBRUARY 9 to APRIL 13 (except 2/16), 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
TUESDAYS, FEBRUARY 10 to APRIL 14, 6 to 8:30 p.m.
SATURDAYS, FEBRUARY 7-21, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; FEBRUARY 28 to APRIL 11, 1-4 p.m.
Volunteers from the Town of Hempstead Department of Senior Enrichment will prepare 2008 income tax returns at the Library, free of charge. Bring copies of last year’s federal and state returns, instruction booklets with label, all 1099 and W-2 forms, and property tax bills. This is a free service. It is not available for those with involved finances or those who own a business. Volunteers cannot prepare time-consuming returns. You will be assisted on a first come, first served basis. Please check bulletin board for room location.
*Please note that all dates and times are subject to change. VITA is a volunteer program. At this time we do not know how many (if any) volunteers will be available. Look for a flyer in late January confirming dates and times.

Museum of Biblical Art (MOBIA)
The Museum of Biblical Art fosters understanding and appreciation of art inspired by the Bible and its legacy through the centuries by highlighting the connection between art and religion in the Jewish and Christian tradition.
The membership includes free admission for two adults and/or children at the same address. You may take advantage of a 20% discount on MOBIA merchandise, as well as discounts at many shops and restaurants.
Cradle of Aviation
The history of aviation, the history of Long Island, and the history of the United States became intimately entwined with the dawn of flight. From the early days of kites and ballooning to the race to the moon, Long Island has played a very important role in the development and growth of aviation and aerospace.
The membership included admission for two adults and up to four children, 18 years and younger. You may take advantage of a 15% discount at the museum store, and discount on the purchase of IMAX tickets.

Freeport Musician: Anne Yarrow
Anne Yarrow presents the Freeport Memorial Library Board President, Denton Watson with her new classical music CD. Anne Yarrow, violinist, conductor, and college professor is currently on the music faculties of Molly College, Rockville Centre, New York, and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, Flushing, New York. Patriots is the 5th album recorded in collaboration with Caspar Dechmann.
